The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) was appointed as the New Town Development Authority (NTDA) for the area that falls under the MTHL influence zone
The initial notification pertains to transferring a substantial area around the MTHL to the MMRDA-led New Town Development Authority (NTDA) for development, which will positively influence the region’s economic growth. Of the 124 villages involved, 80 are within the Navi Mumbai Airport Influence Notified Area, 33 are from the Khopta New Town Notified Area, two are part of the Mumbai Metropolitan Regional Plan, and nine belong to the Raigad Regional Plan.
